아이작 아시모프(Ahimov)가 로봇 3원칙을 내세운 것은 1942년에 집필한 '런어라운드'에서였다. 2058년 시점의 정부 로봇 안내서를 염두에 두었다. 그가 제시한 것은 로봇은 사람에게 해를 끼쳐서는 안되며 행동하지 않음으로써 인간에게 해가 가도록 해서는 안된다(1원칙), 로봇은 1원칙에 상충되는 경우를 제외하고는 인간의 명령에 따라야 한다(2원칙), 로봇은 1, 2원칙에 어긋나지 않는 한 스스로 보호해야 한다(3원칙)로 로봇 철학의 바이블 역할을 해왔다.

에트지오니 박사가 업데이트한 규칙은 다음과 같다.1. 인공지능 시스템은 운영자에게 적용되는 모든 법률 범위를 준수해야 한다.2. 인공지능 시스템은 인간이 아니라는 것을 명확하게 공개해야 한다.3. 인공지능 시스템은 기밀 정보의 출처로부터 명시적 승인없이 기밀 정보를 보유하거나 공개할 수 없다.

Early childhood

During his childhood he was an avid reader.^[40] At age 10, he developed an interest in computing with the Commodore VIC-20.^[41] He taught himself computer programming at the age of 12, sold the code for a BASIC-based video game he created called Blastar, to a magazine called PC and Office Technology, for approximately $500.^[42]^[43] A web version of the game is available online.^[42]^[44] His childhood reading included Issac Asimov's Foundation series from which he drew the lesson that "you should try to take the set of actions that are likely to prolong civilization, minimize the probability of a dark age and reduce the length of a dark age if there is one."^[39]

Education

At the age of 17, Musk was accepted into Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, for undergraduate study. In 1992, after spending two years at Queen's University, Musk transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where in May 1997 he received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from its College of Arts and Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from its Wharton School of Business. Musk extended his studies for one year to finish the second bachelor's degree.^[40]^[48] While at the University of Pennsylvania, Musk and fellow Penn student Adeo Ressi rented a 10-bedroom fraternity house, using it as an unofficial nightclub.^[40]

In 1995, at age 24, Musk moved to California to begin a PhD in applied physics and materials science at Stanford University, but left the program after two days to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations in the areas of the internet, renewable energy and outer space.^[43]^[49] In 2002, he became a U.S. citizen.^[50]^[51]
