영화 폭스캐처 Foxcatcher (2014) - 충격적이고 비범한 실화, 평범할 수도 있는 원형

 

 

 

- 우연히, 주말에 TV 틀었더니 마침 EBS '세계의 명화'에서 나와서 보게된 영화.

 

- 그런데, 금방 빨려들어서 보고, 참 다양한 생각을 떠오르게 하는 영화

  : 우선, 영화 자체에 대해서는 다큐라는 느낌이 들 정도로 설득력 있는 좋은 작품.

    (영화 평을 보면 세 주인공의 연기에 대한 호평이 많은데, 다큐 느낌이 들 정도로

     연기는 설득력이 있고, 그러한 영화로 만들어 낸 작가/감독의 힘/감각이 느껴짐.)

  : 극단적인 결과가 특이하긴 하지만, 정도가 다를 뿐, 원형은 흔한 이야기가 아닐까?

    (대중의 이해/동의/공감을 구하는 대중예술이 그렇듯이... 결과는 충격적이어도,

     그 결과까지 가는 과정은 그럴듯해야 하니... 어쩔 수 없이 그렇게 표현됐는지도...

     하지만, 어쨌튼... 영화에서 소개된 인간관계들과 그 상황들은 꽤 이해가 된다.)

  : 돈으로 위대함을 사는 세상, 그리고 돈/지원이 있어야 위대해질 수 있는 세상

    (이렇게 표현하면 이상할지 모르지만, 출발은 노벨상도 호암상도 크게 다르지 않고,

     과거 현대의 모든 위대함을 추구하는 노력은 일정한 자원/시간의 투자를 요한다.)

  : 지식이던 돈이던 권력이던 장애던 세상으로부터의 단절이 비현실적인 감각 만들고

    (최근에 한국 사회는 최고지도자를 통해서, 그것이 어떤 결과를 가져올 수 있는지,

     또 어쩌면 본질적으로 권력과 부와 인간의 한계/굴레는 몇세기 전과 비슷할지도...

  : 인간관계에서 복잡한 애증의 관계, 현대사회/현실의 다양한 명암을 보여주는 영화.

    (원래 인간은 그렇게 합리적이고 이성적이고 이타적/선한 존재가 아닐지도 모른다.

     그런 인간이 만든 세상은 상호침투를 통해 조금은 합리적/이성적이 되긴 하지만,

     그럼에도 불구하고, 그런 견제/균형이 무너지는 시점/지점들에서 균열이 드러남.

     인간은 어쩔 수 없이... 가면과 제약을 통해서만 그 균형을 유지할 수 있는지도...

     잘 모르는 생소한 개념/용어 사용해서 뭔가 표현하려니, 좀 이상한데... 여기까지.)

  : 어쨌튼, 가장 안타깝고 아까운 것은 젊고 재능있고 성실한 인간/아빠/선수의 죽음.

    (어떻게 그런 극단적인 상황/사건이 벌어졌는지, 그 이력이나 원인을 파헤칠 수도

     있고, 이해해보려 할 수는 있지만, 가장 중요한 것은 인명의 손실이 있었다는 것.

     그리고, 그런 것을 막을 수 있는 방법을 찾는 것. 그런데, 아직 정답은 모르겠다.

     어쩌면 국가지원을 하는 것? 그런데 그게 정말 공공성이 있는지는 잘 모르겠다.

     직접적으로는 정신적으로 불안한 정신병력 있으면 무기소지가 금지되어야겠지.

     그리고 보면, 미국이라는 사회가 참 적자생존의 원칙이 지배하는 야생적인듯.)
